About Vic

Vic is a recognised podcast industry expert and the founder of podcast production and training company MIC media. Uniquely set up as a social enterprise, MIC helps good eggs to tell their stories through great audio. She gets out of bed every morning to amplify underheard voices and stories. In 2022 she was featured in The Guardian and Third Sector news an a podcast industry insider.

In 2022 she was named as one of the Top 100 Women in Social Enterprise by the Pioneers Post and Natwest. She’s also a judge for the British Podcast Awards, the International Women’s Podcast Awards and the Manchester Publicity Association Awards.

In 2022 MIC won silver in the Grassroots Production category at the Audio Production Awards and a nomination in the Manchester Culture Awards. They also received a nomination in the coveted British Podcast Awards for their work with Manchester City Council and the Pankhurst Trust on the ‘Strong Manchester Women’ podcast. Their other clients include Co-op, Plan International, Unltd, National Football Museum, Children’s University, Stockport Council and The People’s Powerhouse. Vic also has her own podcast called Tourist, it's a travel podcast with comedians as tour guides. 

MIC also runs meetups for their DIY podcaster community. Vic started the Club in a room above a boozer in late 2018, MIC's Podcast Club now has 1,000 members.Vic, who's also produced a podcast for Bauer media with pop star Fleur East is also the co-founder and Director of Pods Up North, a conference for podcasters  - a first for the north of England. Their debut event in 2019 was a huge success; sponsored by Spotify, it attracted 150 delegates and top notch speakers from across Podcast Land, including BBC Sounds, Audioboom, Two Shot Pod, and a Gay and A Non Gay Podcast.

Vic’s worked across the creative industries and with national, award-winning youth charities including Uprising Leadership and NOISEfestival.com  She’s also the former Director of the independent music website, Silent Radio and is a regular panelist, her appearances include Off The Record festival, Liverpool Sound City and Northern Power Futures. She’s also included on the prestigious Northern Power Women Future List.
